WOMAN'S VALUE IN VODU

WHAT IS THE PLACE OF WOMAN IN VODUISM ?

MAWU (God) provides the black man in general and  voduist man particularly with an imposing sexual orgarn enabling him to satify women fully. No woman in the world has so far  questioned the potency of the black man as his explosiveness and his performance in bed are well documented. Sure he can be blamed for lack of affection, but the black man is more rigor fulfilling his conjugal duty rather than frioritures surrounding. We often hear our grandmothers say in Ewe "Nusu be vi Adeke me li o" which means "there is no little man" a sign that the black man does not joke with the sexual act, no matter how small he is! All this to say that the black man does not suffer from any inferiority complex in front of the woman to have recourse to God in order to usurp a place of "higher" in society. Moreover, in voduism, there is no notion of equality or inequality between men and women, and the approach is rather a complementary approach because many vodus as SO or TRON are " married "and have the same worship.

A woman can aspire to the priesthood in the voduism?
Does women have the obligation to submit theirselves to the man in the voduism?
What is the real power of women in the voduism?

Priesthood in vodouisme:

The priesthood exists in all Abrahamic religions, but the peculiarity of this function is that it is only for men in those religions. No woman has the right to aspire to be priestess, quarry, bishop cardianal, imam, or rabbi as these titles are reserved exclusively for men! Is it not a disguised way to Semitic men hide their LEGENDARY IMPOTENCE ?
Anyway, in the voduism, women have every right to be ordained priestesses with unrestricted freedom or other constraints. It remains the only one making decisions as long as she lives in her position. His status as a woman even strengthens the respect dedicated to his job.
Two vodu priestesses

Some voodoo have only  priestesses! No man has the right to govern these voodoo there. We are talking about voodoo like SOVI and Tchaba ... The case Tchaba strengthens the position of women in voduism is that a child can only be adept Tchaba of HER MOTHER. To my knowledge, there is no voodoo whose priesthood is reserved exclusively for men as we have just seen the voodoo that the priesthood is exclusively for women! Finally let's say that men can be adepts or enter the convent in the same way as women.

 A woman, an inferior?

Note that the holy scriptures of voduism did not mention such a fact of submission or inferiority of women to men as a will of  MAWU or voodoo. No dou  of FA has relegated women to a lower status.
The woman can dress as she wants but it must be decent. She is free to get in bikini, wearing the world's sexiest clothes and make it beautiful as it désire. She has the right to have a driving license and have her own car. It is even recommended her anything that can show her femininity and beauty. Voodoo women adepts (vodusi) make ceremonies with their breasts in the air. Wearing bra is often prohibited in certain places of worship. Women can go out alone without being accompanied.

It is true that often, it is recommended that women not counter the power of man or outright to submit to the authority of the man. However, this was never the WILL of MAWU! it is an advice given to women because of the phallocrate nature of men (admittedly) very macho in our societies: Is it not a sign of excessive masculinity?
In short, men and women complement each other in the voduism. They do not suffer any restriction of liberty or dress requirements in voduism.

The power of women:

I've emphasized the paramount influence of the voodoo culture of his environment. I gave as an example the case of Ewe culture. I say that in a voduist socity, there is always a latent matriacat. I take the case of voodoo Tchaba who has his adepts on the maternal side. But there is deeper in the sense that the word of the mother becomes divine word. The voduist society is indifferent about a child who disobeys his father when it is hostile to disobedience towards the mother. "Do not get cursed by your mother because you'll find misfortune certainly" have we used to hear. The word of the mother has the same power as the word of God. The woman has the unifying power in our society: children of the same father are often less supportive of children from the same mother because her children recognize this undeniable power which she holds from God. Finally, what the woman wants, it is God who wants.
However, excision is bad and  menstruation of women is frowned. A woman who has her menstruation does not cook her husband under voodoo alafia example. There are ceremonies that are reserved only for postmenopausal women because blood from menstruation is considered impure. Other cults are the prerogative of virgins.

CONCLUSION

Woman in voduism has the same rights as a man since she can attain positions of the priesthood in the same way as a man. It is never considered inferior and society recognizes her some divine power. But we will not increase the cost of real images of women dominated in socitété due to the machismo of men too macho to meet that reserve valuable space MAWU gives women.
Still there are a lot of voodoo priestesses and everyone fears the curse of his mother.
